Marikina City, known as the Philippines’ shoe capital is going to hold “Tule (Circumcision) Party” on May 7. The event is expected to draw some 1500 boys aged 12 and up for the free circumcision. The number may put Marikina City in the Guinness Book of World Records which incidentally is they’re trying to achieve, the most number of boys circumcised in a day. It will be held in the sports complex from 7am to 5pm.

UPDATE: The Guinness World Book of Records rejected the city’s bid for a new record for the most number of boys circumcised in the Circumcision Party citing hygiene considerations and risks. Guinness has expressed concerns about the safety of the participants.
