In 2009, Brian Acton was trying his luck to work with Twitter and Facebook. He was turned down by both companies. He and his friend Jan Koum later on founded WhatsApp, a messaging service for mobile phones. In February 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for a hefty $19 Billion.
