A series of images that captured nature’s magnificent lightning show around the ash plume of Chile’s erupting Puyehue-Cordon Caulle chain volcano. The phenomenon is still a mystery to scientists however, they did notice a relationship between the amount of lightning from a volcano and the size of its plume. That is, the higher the plume, more lightning occurs.
